This 4-day safari combines the unique northern landscapes of Samburu with the bird-rich Lake Nakuru National Park. Guests will experience rare wildlife species, arid savannahs, and riverine woodlands in Samburu, followed by the rhino sanctuaries and flamingo-dotted waters of Lake Nakuru. Pick up from your Nairobi hotel at 7:30 a.m. and depart northwards to Samburu, located in Kenya’s rugged Northern Frontier District. The reserve is renowned for its dry savannahs along the Uaso Nyiro River and is home to unique northern species including reticulated giraffes, Grevy’s zebras, Beisa oryx, gerenuks, and kudu. Arrive in time for lunch at Umoja Tented Camp and relax before heading out on an afternoon game drive. Return to the camp for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, spend the day exploring Samburu National Reserve with morning and afternoon game drives. The reserve is home to elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs, along with abundant plains game. Alternating between morning and afternoon drives allows for the best opportunities to view wildlife in its natural habitat. Return to Umoja Tented Camp for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast, optionally visit a Samburu village to experience local culture and traditions. Depart Samburu by road for Lake Nakuru National Park, stopping en route for lunch and photographs at Thompson’s Falls. Arrive at Buraha Zenoni Hotel in the afternoon and check in. Enjoy the hotel facilities, such as the swimming pool, before dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, enjoy a morning game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, dominated by gentle hills, bush, and woodlands typical of the Rift Valley. The park is a renowned rhino sanctuary, hosting approximately 45 black rhinos and 31 white rhinos, and is famous for its large flocks of flamingos. After the game drive, depart for Nairobi with lunch en route. Arrival in the city is expected around 2:00 p.m., with drop-off at your hotel or airport, concluding the safari.
